About The Role Salary: $50 - $60/hr This is a temporary position looking to be filled from January 2025 - April 2025. Upon completion of this contract, there may be full-time opportunities available. We are looking for a Tax Preparer to provide a broad spectrum of support to our customers. The ideal candidate will be committed to accurate and timely tax preparation and have the ability to communicate effectively to a range of taxpayers. The role of the April Pro team is to provide first-in-class tax preparation to April customers. The team is imperative in assisting customers with their tax filings, helping US taxpayers navigate through one of the most challenging times of the year. The team owns the tax preparation experience from initial submission of tax documents to preparers, all the way through to post-filing follow-up questions from customers. Responsibilities Consistently meet targets for customer satisfaction, issue resolution, and the economics of our April Pro organization. Define and maintain excellent service levels in our April Pro organization. Understand operational efficiency requirements and strive to constantly improve them. Work closely with clients to obtain personal information regarding potential deductions, grants, allowances, investments, real estate, etc. Inform clients of important paperwork and documentation needed to complete tax forms properly. Verify tax forms completed by clients to ensure their proper submission. Properly research and seek the advice of senior preparers when confronted with particularly challenging tax circumstances. Gather appropriate materials regarding yearly tax tables, instructions, and forms to accurately calculate taxes. Requirements CPA or EA certification 5+ years of tax preparation experience ProSystems/Lacerte software expertise Experience conducting virtual interviews that will elicit confidence in our customers Tax planning and audit support Ability to prioritize and meet timely obligations with many clients About April April believes that every taxpayer should have a world-class tax experience, regardless of their background, income bracket, or what they can afford to pay. To be successful as a tax preparer, you should be able to ensure your clients comply with IRS regulations and work to minimize their tax liabilities. Tax Preparer Responsibilities: Ensuring clients comply with IRS regulations and meet their state and federal tax obligations. Analyzing and minimizing tax liabilities by implementing tax reduction strategies. Reviewing financial records, income statements, and expenditures. Preparing and filing tax returns and work papers for companies, partnerships, and individuals. Researching tax issues and assisting with tax audits. Consulting with clients, reviewing their tax information, and responding to questions and concerns. Advising clients on employee health care benefits, compensation, and accounting systems. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date client records. Tax Preparer Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in taxation or accounting required. CPA certification preferred. 1+ years of tax preparation experience. Experience using tax preparation software and applications. Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
